About Us
Founded in 2011, Panama Communications provides telecoms and IT support to the UK’s hospitality industry, servicing over 3,500 managed venues nationwide. The company was established by Clive Cooper and Simon Butterworth, who sought to remedy the endemic frustrations faced by pubs, restaurants and hotels in dealing with poor telecommunications support. With a resolute focus on operational efficiency, responsiveness and tailored service, Panama Communications prides itself on delivering dependable solutions that combine quality with excellent value.
Meet the Team:

Helen has over 20 years’ experience working for global technology companies. A PMI-qualified Project Manager, she has spent the last 14 years leading IT projects across the UK, Europe and worldwide, with clients in hospitality, retail, financial services and manufacturing. Her work spans a wide range of technologies including networks, datacentres and large-scale rollouts. Helen is known for her close collaboration with customers and stakeholders, her clear and consistent communication, and her thorough approach to risk and change management. Her attention to detail and tenacity ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Clive spent over a decade in retail management, working for large multi-site organisations. This experience gave him a deep empathy for the daily pressures faced by customer-facing managers and instilled a lasting commitment to consistent, high-quality customer service. He later transitioned into IT service and project management, leading teams on a range of projects including EPOS system rollouts within the hospitality sector, before focusing his expertise on telecoms. Clive believes Panama offers a unique and tailored approach to telecoms delivery, specifically suited to the needs of the hospitality industry.

Simon co-founded Panama Communications with a clear vision: to elevate the standard of telecoms support available to pubs, restaurants and hotels. His first hand experience with the delays and revenue losses caused by poor telecoms infrastructure fuelled his desire to create a company with speed, service quality and accountability at its core. With a strong background in project management and IT systems implementation, Simon plays a central role in ensuring Panama delivers consistently high levels of service to every client.
